Eastern Tandem Rally (non-DOGS)
Friday
Aug. 6

to
Sunday
Aug. 8
The Eastern Tandem Rally this year will return to its 1986 site of Keuka College in Penn Yan, on beautiful Keuka Lake in the Finger Lake region of New York. The rally is August 6-8, 2004. We will be staying at Keuka College, and there may be off-campus accommodation options - stay tuned. This is truly a beautiful area where Judy and I have ridden several times. Organizers and long time ETR attendees Chuck and Bonnie Dye have promised not to repeat the infamous "Little Italy Hill" fiasco that spectacularly followed one of 1986's lunches (a hot 4 mile climb on cold legs) but there will be some hills on all the rides. Organized by the GREATS, Greater Rochester Eating and Tandeming Society.

Pre-Seagull Training Ride
Saturday
Aug. 14
Cannot let a free weekend go to waste! In between ETR and STTR on Saturday the 14th at 9PM, this mid-season training ride is one to place on your calendar. Starting early in order to avoid the heat and traffic at 9:30AM. Meeting everyone in the Gillette Pathmark Shopping Center, 1285 Valley Road, Gillette, 07933. There is a Starbucks, Dunkin Doughnuts and Panera Breads selection of stores for the early risers who wish to imbibe in a little caffeine and carbohydrate. Ride is approx. 45 miles with no planned or scheduled mid-way stop. There is a myriad of hills but no killer climbs. Great opportunity to practice "pacelining" with a group riding at your favorite speed. Plans are for everyone to pick up a sandwich at Panera after the ride and eat under the trees. Cheryl and I will have a cooler of drinks and post-ride/lunch snacks.

Colonia to Eagle Rock Reservation
Sunday

We are planning a ride for Sunday August 28 from our house in Colonia thru Milburn to the Eagle Rock Reservation Lookout and back. We are planning on leaving at 9:30 sharp because of traffic situations and the heat. The midway stop will be at the Eagle Rock Reservation. The ride is rolling hills to hilly. There will be a barbeque at our house following the ride. Therefore we would appreciate knowing who is coming by Thursday August 26th. Hopefully we will see many of you on the 29th. Remember, bring your bathing suits if you want to unwind in the hot tub after the ride.
