| ¾ | c. | Butter Flavor Crisco shortening

| 1 ¼ | c. | firmly packed light brown sugar

| 1 | | egg
|
| 1/3 | c. | milk
|
| 1 ½ | tsp. | vanilla extract
|
| 3 | c. | uncooked (Quaker) old-fashioned oats
|
| 1 | c. | all-purpose flour
|
| ½ | tsp. | baking soda
|
| ½ | tsp. | salt (optional)
|
| ¼ | tsp. | cinnamon
|
| 1 | c. | raisins
|
| 1 | c. | coursely chopped walnuts
|
| - Heat oven to 375°F.
- Lightly grease baking sheet with a little Crisco
- Combine in a large bowl: Crisco, brown sugar, egg, milk, vanilla
- Beat at medium speed with electric mixer until well-blended
- Combine: oats, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon.
- Mix into creamed mixture at low speed just until blended.
- Stir in: raisins, walnuts.
- Drop rounded tablespoonfulls of dough 2 inches apart onto baking sheet.
- Bake 10-12 minutes, or until lightly browned.
- Cool 2 minutes on cooling rack.
