Jul. 12 The organizers of ETR 2009 wish to invite you to the thirty-sixth annual Eastern Tandem Rally held in Strasburg, PA. Strasburg is situated in Lancaster County, PA. in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. http://www.padutchcountry.com. The dates for this year's event are July 10-12, 2009. We have reserved all of the one hundred rooms at Historic Strasburg Inn, for this year's rally. Our host facility is situated on beautifully landscaped grounds with a view of the surrounding countryside. Our meals will satisfy the most ravenous tandem team�s appetite before, during and after a long day's ride. An outdoor pool is available for a refreshing swim after the rides. Shower facilities will be available for those who wish to enjoy a ride on Sunday afternoon after the 11:00 AM check out time. You can check out their facilities at http://www.historicinnofstrasburg.com. Room availability at The Historic Strasburg Inn is limited to one hundred rooms. There are several motels, B&B's and campgrounds nearby. Register early, because we will be limiting the registration to 135 tandem teams.

Progressive Loops of Central Morris County

Jul. 25 The Dover DOGS are offering an assortment of rides all based on a base loop with progressive outward loops that provide more-and-more rural roads with more-and-more climbs. Therefore, we have something for every ability level, and everyone returns on the same roads. Plan for a two hour ride at your pace and choose the route that will get you back in that time.

Location Home of Team Garland (Dave and Maribel), 138 Oram Drive, Dover, NJ, the main street in Salem Village, next street over from Team Wells Headquarters.
Distance 12, 16, 22, 25, 35, 40 mi.
Terrain For the first couple of miles, all roads are relatively flat. Depending on the ride you choose, your ride will become rolling to hilly unless you choose the 40 mile ride which is challenging. But since these are "Progressive Loops," all roads on which you will return will become rolling to flat. Also, most roads are suburban and rural with some traffic but all areas are bicycle/tandem friendly.
Refreshments Pre-ride snacks at the home of Team Garland (Dave and Maribel). Dave, the Grill Master, will have us feasting upon his delicacies as well as anything each team brings to share with the rest of the DOGS. Please bring a lawn chair.

Jul. 31 Cut the work week short, and join the Andersons for a Friday afternoon ride through scenic Lehigh County, PA, followed by an evening watching exciting elite tandem track racing at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center - Tandemonium!
Rain cancels. Admission to the velodrome is $5 or $8 per person - tickets are available at the gate. Additional info about the velodrome can be found at http://www.thevelodrome.com/index.php. I hope to secure the use of shower/locker room facilities for us to clean up and change post ride.
Time TBD - Probably around 2-3PM; The evening's racing program begins at 7:30PM and lasts until about 10PM.
