| Sunday
Mar. 6 | Join us for a crisp ride in the Hunterdon/Morris county hills and
valleys. Last month, we did not do our normal Pancake Ride. We did
what we like to call: Not The, Not As Flat As A...The Pancake Ride.
The unseasonably warm temperatures for the weekend caused snowmelt on
Saturday and the overnight low temperatures left some morning ice on
the roads. But we did a 24 mile safe leader lead ride on roads that
were more open to the unseasonably warm 50-something degree sun and we
encountered no ice. This ride is similar to the Pancake ride but some of
the roads will be done in the opposite direction. We will keep the ride
at a nice easy pace, taking in beautiful Morris and Hunterdon scenery
along the way. The Hacklebarney cider mill is closed for the winter
season, but we will have post-ride pizza in one of Califon's fine pizza
parlors. Dutch treat.
For those of you who would like to have breakfast before the ride, the Califon Fire Department is having their monthly all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, toast, coffee, and orange juice event ($6). If you RSVP, then we can meet you and sit together. Either way, come out and enjoy this beautiful, scenic ride. |

| Saturday
Mar. 19 | Mark and Cheryl (a.k.a., Team Road Raiders) and Greg and Sue Adam
have graciously offered to
host the 2005 edition of our annual Spring Equinox party.
They are planning for a tandem ride (presuming we get weather
that cooperates) beginning at 1:00 PM. The party will commence at 4:00 PM.
It will be time to celebrate the return of more hours of daylight than darkness and the 2005 riding season coming into full swing. As usual please let Dave Kristol (equinox2005@d-o-g-s.org) know what food item you are planning to bring to share with your fellow DOGS (note: this can be as general as Appetizer, Main Dish, Dessert, Salad or as specific as you decide). See this page to see who's bringing what so far. |
