| Saturday
Oct. 2 | Join Judy and Malcolm on Saturday for a second butt-numbing flat ride to continue our training for the Seagull Century. We will provide a single route from Medford through Chatsworth and Batsto Village. The route has not been finalized, but will likely be about 65 miles. No matter what route we choose, the terrain will be very similar to the Seagull terrain. Again, you will get great opportunities to log some miles and practice tandem pace-lining with a group riding at your favorite speed. There is at least one WaWa-type market on the ride, but please plan to have sufficient fuel and water on board to make it a good distance. (We may find a way to add an option for a few more miles to the basic route.) |
| Time | 9:00 AM |
| Location | Start at the Boyd/Allison house in Medford |
| Distance | We guess about 65 miles; route slip provided. Check back later! |
| Terrain | Flat, flatter, and nearly the flattest. |
| Refreshments | Post-ride drinks, snacks, sandwiches and socializing at the house; showers, too. |
| Host | Judy Allison and Malcolm Boyd |
| Contact | Judy at Judy @LoveLaughter.com or call us at 856 988-8211. Please RSVP so we can have sufficient sandwich materials and drinks on hand! That way you can also get directions to our house! |

bicycling event, beginning and ending on the campus of Salisbury
University, will tour the picturesque Eastern Shore of Maryland and

| Saturday
Oct. 23 | We're celebrating Linda's 60th birthday (okay, a few days early --
it's actually on the 26th) and want to do something non-traditional. So,
weather permitting, we will start with an afternoon DOGS ride. Later in the
evening (starting around 6), we're going to have a "pot luck" party (a'la
our normal DOGS parties). And, we'll all celebrate the fact that Linda has
become a "fast woman" in her later years. Please note that there will be
non-tandemists at the party as well, and we want you all to recruit a few to
the joys of tandeming. No, this is not a surprise party! (After 60 years
[30 with George] nothing surprises Linda anymore.)
[10/20 - Rides cancelled due to local road work.] |
| Time | Around Noon (for the ride portion), around 6:00 PM for the party. |
| Location | Team Wells Headquarters (call or e-mail for directions) |
| Refreshments | Some pre- and post-ride snacks provided by Team Wells. At the party -- no presents; bring a food item to share. Team Wells will provide beverages and the birthday cake. |
| Host | Team (Linda and George) Wells |
| Contact | Linda and George Wells, 973-361-1776 or ronin@nac.net. Please RSVP to say what you'll bring. (Check this page to see what others are bringing.) |
| ?Haunted? Mansions and Streams Ride | |
|---|---|
| Sunday
Oct. 31 | Join Susan and Greg for their first organized DOGS ride. We'll be riding from our house on beautiful, very lightly traveled roads past some huge mansions, along a stream, and through the hills. We may even be able to catch a few lingering fall colors. If the weather ends up too cool, we'll plan a slighly shorter route. After the ride, Greg will fire up the BBQ. We're trying to work a rest stop into the ride. There will be plenty of time for everyone to get back home to greet the little goblins and ghouls that will be out in the evening. |
| Time | 9:30 AM |
| Location | Adam house, Berkeley Heights |
| Distance | 40-45 mi., shorter if it's really cold |
| Terrain | Rolling-Hilly |
| Refreshments | BBQ after the ride |
