Four teams showed up for the tandem mountain bike ride at beautiful Glacier Ridge here on Long Island: Mike and Caren, Jeff and Wendy, Abram and Leigh, Brenda and Larry. I led the ride on my single bike since, I have to be honest, I had never seen a tandem mountain bike until Saturday. So Caren Bianco asked me about half way through the 12 mile trail if I was surprised at how well everyone does in the woods. Again I have to be honest that I was not surprised, because I already knew the high level of riding these teams do on the road and thought it would carry over. Which it did. So "extremely impressed" is more of the phrase I would use for how well these teams glided through the woods. I think I had a better time leading and watching them than they had. However, throughout the ride I did see many smiling teeth coming from the Team Breeze machine. Everyone came back to the house for some homemade egg white casseroles, chips and turkey wraps. I just want to say thank you to the teams that showed up and hope to see everyone soon!
