Dave's Hot Ride returned this year after a brief hiatus in 2014. Teams from far (Philadelphia and Vermont!!) and near (a camper parked in Dave's Resort) gathered on a sunny Saturday, August 1st, to enjoy riding and fellowship. As promised, the weather was hot, so the 12 teams split into three groups, riding either a short (15), medium (23), or long (36) ride. The long ride participants were rewarded with an ice cream stop to satisfy part of their "nutritional requirements." Post ride comments indicated that folks were challenged by the climbs but well rewarded with exciting and scenic downhills. And luckily, the only mechanical problem of the day occurred at the very end of the ride, right at the turn into the driveway!!

The cool pool was welcome refreshment after all that hard work, and was enjoyed by many of the crowd. The participants generously donated lots of delicious fare for the traditional banquet — from garden fresh salads, to decadent homemade brownies. And even though she was unable to ride just yet, Karen Witt arrived later in the afternoon for some splash therapy. It was great to see that her recovery from surgery is progressing well.
