[Team Bianco report]
We had a great ride yesterday. Ten teams participated. The weather was great. The riding was great. It was nice hanging out with everyone for lunch after the ride.

Don't forget about Dave's Hot Ride next Saturday! (Unfortunately, we can't be there.)

[Team Wells report]
Thank you Caren and Mike! Last Saturday was a gorgeous day, here, in the Morris-Somerset County area — perfect for a DOGS ride — and there were ten of us that Team Wells will include in the next paragraph. For those of you who were unable to join us, sure hope the weather was nice for you wherever you live, and that you were able to get out and take a ride on your own tandem.

Larry and Brenda Isherwood, Joe and Dawn Scheneck, Paul and Jane Kimmel, Robert and Susan Schmitt, Alan Scherl and Rita Tesar, Rich Tranfield and Karla Doremus, Mark Cook and Cheryl Prudhomme, Jeff Winick and Wendy Samuelson, Mike and Caren Bianco (the leaders of Saturday's DOGS Day Out) and George and Linda Wells.

Team Bianco prepared two routes based on a favorite MAFW route from Loantaka Park through the Great Swamp and back. While the Swamp is flat, little surrounding the Swamp can claim flat roads. Therefore, getting to and leaving the Swamp required some climbs. With a total of 10 teams participating, we actually had four more teams than had said they were coming the previous week, which could have run if the radar picture on NOAA and forecast had been better. We did miss meeting one of our newest teams due to the re-schedule. Hopefully, they will join us for another ride in the near future — perhaps Dave's Hot Ride next Saturday?!?!

Oh yes, don't forget that Mark & Cheryl are hosting the MATES Rally the weekend following Dave's Hot Ride.

Team Wells has to admit that they wimped out on some of the climbs and left the set routes at White Bridge Road, but we were already falling off-the-back at that point anyway. We followed routes that George knows from having grown up in the area. We had a good time with the DOGS teams getting to White Bridge Road and during the post ride gathering. We also learned that Lee's Hill Road is a real mess. Fortunately, the signs said that New Vernon will be repaving that road starting today. The next time we're on that road, it will be much nicer.

We already mentioned Dave's Hot Ride. At the post-ride Wendy and Jeff announced that they are planning a Labor Day Weekend ride which hasn't yet been posted on the DOGS website. There are a lots of open dates for anyone who wants to host a DOGS Day Out. Also, we encourage anyone who wants to log their rides on Strava to join the Doubles of the Garden State Club listing on Strava. We can see what other DOGS members are doing and you might find another DOGS team close by and invite them to share a ride that isn't a full-on DOGS Day Out — just some DOGS getting together to share the fun of riding our tandems. (FWIW: Team Wells just joined and you can see our ultra-boring riding of the same loops day, after day, after day, ….)

One administrative note: There have been problems with the email list server, and some ISPs like Optonline have been blocking DOGS messages. There is a fix underway and we should be fully functional soon.

Again, Thanks to Caren and Mike for hosting last Saturday's DOGS Day Out and a special thanks to Mike for setting up and administering the Doubles of the Garden State Club page on Strava.
