WhereCook/Prudhomme house, Annandale, NJ
Who (else) Riding: Caren and Mike Bianco, Barbara and Tracy Cate, Jane and Paul Fialcowitz, Barbara Flint and Neil McPhee, Pat and Ed Gifford, Claire Hamanaka and Walt Willard, Brenda and Larry Isherwood, Susan Nicolich and Dave Snope, Karen and Cam Witt. Partying: Judy Allison and Malcolm Boyd, Marji Brandriss and Dave Kristol, Deb and Al Cudworth, Amy Isherwood, Linda and George Wells.

While spring "officially" arrived in March, Team Cook/Prudhomme decided to shift the celebration to April in hopes of having even better weather. For a few days, even Mark wondered if his ability to pick good weather dates had faded, because the official arrival of spring was followed by two snowfalls, along with a prediction that the weekend he chose would be greeted with an additional 10 inches. The good news is that Mark never lost his Mojo and the weather, although a bit chilly, was perfect.

Participants in the ride portion of the day were teams: Isherwood (Larry & Brenda), Nicolich/Snope (Susan & Dave), Fialcowitz (Paul & Jane), Flint/McPhee (Barbara & Neil), Cook/Prudhomme (Mark & Cheryl - our hosts), Bianco (Mike & Caren), Witt (Cam & Karen), Cate (Tracy & Barbara), Gifford (Pat & Ed), and Hamanaka/Willard (Claire & Walt). Some other teams arrived later for the party: Team Wells (George & Linda), Cudworth (Al & Deb), Brandriss/Kristol (Marji & Dave), Amy Isherwood, and Allison/Boyd (Judy & Malcolm).

As Team Wells didn't ride (George is allowing his cracked rib to heal before attempting an overhead lift with the tandem), we cannot report on the actual ride, other than to remember that we rode the same route last year, and it was great, with more than a few challenging climbs. We can only surmise that the pothole fairy, who has been really busy this year, made the route just that little bit more "interesting."

As with all DOGS gatherings the camaraderie, conversation, and the food were fantastic. We spent time catching up on what we had been doing over the winter season. And then there was the food - we have great cooks in the club and the selection and diversity of the offerings was fantastic. Of course we all over-ate and will have to pay for that, but it was well worth it.

If you missed the party, the next scheduled DOGS ride will be the 2011 DOGS "NO BULL" Island Camp & Road Ride starting on 13 May and ending on the 15th. There will be camping and day-riders are welcome. Of course, there could be a DOGS ride sooner if any member decides to invite the club members to share a weekend ride that they are planning on riding.

Hope to see all of you soon on the roads.
