The rain cleared from the night before and the weather was just spring perfect! The roads and scenery was abundant and a lot of the roads allowed for riding side by side and gabbing. We started off together and talking for about 1/3 of the ride. Then we hit the hill on the route that led us up to the reservoir. It was there that we then split into a couple of groups. When we were about 6 miles from the end we got a call that there was a mechanical problem and that it turns out they would need a van ride back. So Larry and Stu picked up Bob & Helen Bird with their brand new Cannondale tandem bike. It was just a chain problem, but the chain was unrepairable. Otherwise their new bike seems to be just right for them, a road tandem for the roads. They will now use their mountain bike tandem for the trails only! The return of all the 9 teams was not spread out too far apart and we had a great impromptu "picnic" with lots of teams bringing a diverse spread of goodies, something for everyone! Thanks to all who attended our ride...it wouldn't be the same without you!
